Role: Billing and Parent Accounts Specialist

Hours: 40 hours a week/3 days a week from COT (Central office in Pimlico), (2 days at COT and 1 from a nursery setting)

Contract: 12 months

Salary: £27,500 – £30,000

This opportunity is best suited to those who are looking to develop and experience in-house finance. You will have the chance to learn new systems, government policies relating to grants and use your customer service skills to support our families. The experience gained in this role can help you in a future career in finance and billing. You will work in a shared services team to deliver excellent customer service (dealing with parent queries), manage billing (invoices and payments), and ensure bill and debt accuracy.

 

The role requires a high level of vigilance and accuracy as you will be checking grant allocation and bills on a daily basis. You will be representing LEYF and ensuring that exceptional customer service is provided to both internal and external customers. Correctly in line with local authority policies and deadlines, you will work in partnership with nursery teams and parents to manage debt and guarantee grant submissions are submitted.

 

 

About you:

 

  •  Experience working in a customer service or billings team.
  •  Able to problem solve and remain professional at all times.
  •  Able to build relationships across departments and work in a team.
  •  A great level of attention to detail.
  •  Ability to use Excel and other MS Office products.
  •  Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
  •  Able to work under pressure and to targets.
  •  High motivation with a proven ability to work with minimal supervision.
  •  Proven ability to think laterally in dealing with a wide range of financial and customer-related issues.

 

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • The Accounts & Billing Specialist is responsible for Nursery Billing and debt management. 
  • To work closely with the LEYF Finance team to ensure the Connect & Funding Loop systems are accurate.
  • Key to the role is to provide timely, accurate and compliant parental fee information that enables the organisation at all levels to take informed decisions. The post holder will need to work as part of a team to ensure LEYF meets its statutory obligations regarding information, confidentiality and security across all systems, Connect, Funding Loop, LA Grant Portals & CRM.   
  • To work closely with the team members to ensure that the grant submissions are submitted in line with local authority policies and deadlines. Administrative and financial processes include the allocation of children to grants, checking of 30-hour codes, supporting the import of information into funding loop when required.
